Part 2 – Takt on site – Prefabricated garden studio / granny flat assembly in Canberra

Back again from Canberra, where the jewellery studio / garden pavilion / guest accommodation is shaping up nicely. Most of the building is now completed, with another push planned later in the month to see it ready for the final clean and occupation.

The simple roof was first to go on and gave a first sense of enclosure to the rooms in the garden. Delivery and install of the large double glazed window was next, followed by external FC cladding and internal ply wood cladding to the walls and ceiling.

Shade structures have been temporarily fitted and the doors and ventilation panels all await artistic treatment…

Week two of the build was hotter than the first. 37+ each day and little evening respite. At least some of the work could occur in the shade this time, although there was always that last item to finish in the sun. A big thank you to Matthew Park and owner Dave for all their careful work, and to the families that supported the focussed build effort over this time.
